Over €2.3 million in extra funding has been announced for local laneways.
The funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development was announced this morning and will go towards non-public roads leading to farmland or public amenities.
Over €1.4 million was announced by Minister Heather Humphreys for the local counties earlier this year.
Today's funding sees Monaghan receive the most at €1.05 million - one of the largest allocations in the country.
It's followed by Cavan at €830,000.
Leitrim is to receive €234,000 under the scheme and Longford's getting just over €123,000.
Roscommon is to get the smallest allocation in the country at just over €70,000.
Non-public roads that are used to access agricultural land or bogs and those leading to amenities like beaches or graveyards are eligible under the scheme.
