Counties across the Shannonside Northern Sound region registered some of the fewest number of complaints against lawyers last year.
Figures released by the Legal Services Regulatory Authority reveal Roscommon had the joint-lowest number of complaints, while Monaghan was the sixth-lowest county in terms of complaints.
With only nine complaints registered against lawyers in 2020, Roscommon had the joint-lowest number of complaints, tied with Laois.
Monaghan had the sixth-lowest number of complaints, with 14.
15 complaints were made against lawyers in Leitrim, while 18 were registered in Longford.
Cavan accounts for the highest number of complaints locally, at 19.
1,422 complaints were made nationwide last year, with Dublin accounting for close to 40% of this figure, with 559 complaints made.
Almost 60% of the complaints related to alleged misconduct.
Over a third alleged that the legal services provided were of an "inadequate standard".
Fewer than 10% of complaints centered on alleged excessive costs.
Only 365 of these complaints were closed during 2020, of which 184 were deemed inadmissible.
