Roscommon is currently recording the lowest levels of Covid-19 transmission in the country as the summer surge of the virus continues.
Newly published date from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre show the county as having the lowest 7 day incidence rate per 100,000 people, with 103 covid cases recorded in the last week.
There were 61 positive cases of coronavirus in Leitrim last week, leaving the county with an incidence rate of 190, the 5th lowest nationwide.
Longford has the highest local levels of the virus this week, with an incidence rate of 227 from the notification of 93 covid cases in 7 days.
While they have the highest transmission rate locally, Longford is the 9th lowest for new infections nationwide.
Nationally, The HSE says there are over 400 people in hospitals sick with Covid-19 this morning.
Latest figures show 812 patients in hospital have been diagnosed with the virus, with around half being treated for other medical issues and testing positive incidentally.
