Roscommon recorded the third-highest Covid incident rate in the country in the last fortnight.
New figures published by the Health Protection and Surveillance centre reveal a total of 79 Covid cases in the last two weeks.
Ireland has the fifth highest 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 in the EU and this is reflected in the latest figures from the HSPC which shows a rise in Covid in local counties.
According to the HPSC, between June 10th and June 24th, a total of 79 cases in Roscommon - resulting in an incidence rate of 122 - well above the national average of 92.7
County Westmeath recorded 104 cases in the same time period - and has the fourth-highest incidence rate.
48 cases were recorded in Cavan, 22 in Monaghan, 16 in Leitrim and 18 in Longford.
Limerick had the highest incidence rate in the two week period at 232 per 100,000 people after 454 Covid cases in the last fortnight.
Despite 1500 cases in the last two weeks, Dublin’s incidence rate is only the fifth-worst in the country with mayo recording the lowest at just over 23 cases per 100,000 people.
