Sherin Alsabbagh is an English teacher and interpreter who holds Irish citizenship and has been living in County Roscommon for the last fifteen years.
Her 74-year-old mother Najwa, was granted a visa to travel to Ireland eight months ago, but she remains stuck in the warzone.
Roscommon-Galway TD Claire Kerrane recently raised the case in the Dáil, asking for arrangements to be made for Najwa to travel to Ireland with children who are fleeing the war in Gaza.
