Roscommon says goodbye to one of the country's oldest residents

Ballymurray in Roscommon is today mourning the death of one of the country's oldest residents.

Eileen Kilcline was in her 107th year when she passed away at the weekend at the Sonas Nursing Home in Roscommon.

Eileen's life spanned the 1916 rising, two world wars and a pandemic, with the Roscommon woman even beating Covid last year at 106 years of age.

Eileen will be laid to rest on Wednesday in St. Colman's Cemetery Roscommon following mass at 12:30 in St. Joseph's Church Kilteevan.
