Roscommon Senator calls for pension age not to be increased

The Taoiseach was last night told by his own party members not to increase the state pension age.

Several TDs and senators lobbied him over the issue at their parliamentary party meeting.

The Pensions Commission says it should increase to 67 by 2031.

But Senator Eugene Murphy says the 'vast majority' of the parliamentary party wants it to stay at 66.
