Roscommon Senator Eugene Murphy is undertaking a novel fundraising walks in his local area today.
The Fianna Fail politician has decided to walk backwards for a distance of 10 kilometres on Sliabh Bán today to raise funds for two local charities.
Senator Murphy says most charities have suffered badly because of the Covid-19 lockdown of the past few months and they provide vital help to people who may have been particularly badly affected by the pandemic.
Anyone who wants to donate to the Hub Community Café in Strokestown or the Midlands Cancer Support Centre in Ballinasloe can go onto any of the Fianna Fail Senators social media platforms where they can find a link to the charities.
