A Roscommon senator has secured a meeting with the Oireachtas Agricultural Committee to discuss issues around Lough Funshinagh.
The meeting organised by Eugene Murphy with the assistance of Michael Fitzmaurice will be held on October 26th next.
Members of the Lough Funshinagh group will attend the meeting in Leinster House and Senator Murphy hopes the discussion will give some solutions on to proceed.
The Fianna Fail representative says the issue of Lough Funshinagh must be raised on a national level.
"We cant forget this story, the weather has been pretty good through the summer but as winter approaches with uncertain times through winter and spring in this country. The fear is always there that the levels of water could start rising again and we have a problem, we have a court order to deal with and we have to get away around it and keep this issue in the public realm and get a solution for the people of Lough Funshinagh."
