Roscommon was one of the hottest places in the country today according to a local Met Eireann weather station.
The Mount Dillon station in Roscommon is one of two locations nationwide where the thermometers have risen over 24 degrees this afternoon.Monitoring equipment in Shannon in County Clare also recorded the temperature going above the 24 degree mark.Temperatures are set to continue in the twenties for the few days.
As the sunny spell continues, dog owners have been warned about the dangers of heat. Dogs Trust says 68 per cent of potentially fatal heat stroke cases are caused by walking dogs in hot weather.
