The crisis looks set to extend into the autumn and even the winter.

A local supermarket owner admits there appears to be no end in sight to rising costs.

Consumers across the region continue to see their grocery bills increase as the price of some products continues to spiral.

Staple items like milk and bread have all seen a hike in the past 12 months with the cost of eggs and cheese now six per cent higher.
