There are calls for the government to intervene to address chaos with the school transport system.
Over 83,000 students have so far been given seats on school buses for the upcoming school year.
School bus places were free for the last academic term, but earlier this year fees were reintroduced.
Some politicians say they're being inundated with parents whose children have been refused a place.
Independent Roscommon/Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice says the government needs to act urgently:
"It's not about money. These are parents who are working. Their children go to get a bus to school because unfortunately the pressure is on that if they cannot get the bus to school one or other won't be able to be at work at the time".
