A Roscommon Galway TD is calling on the government to initiate the recommended review of supports for people working remotely.
Remote workers are entitled to tax break from revenue up to 10 percent of their electricity and heating bills and 30 percent of broadband costs.
However, uptake has been poor due to the paperwork involved and on average workers only received an average of 7 cent per day last year.
While the government’s remote working strategy has recommended a review, previous calls by Deputy Naughten for such a review have been rejected by the Finance Minister.
He says that if the government wants to value and promote remote working now and remote working hubs in the future, it needs to take action.
