A Roscommon TD is raising concerns regarding the lack of Gardaí available in rural areas.
Deputy Claire kerrane is making the comments in light of the current Garda recruitment crisis.
Almost one-quarter of Ireland’s Garda stations have seen a fall in the number of officers on duty last year.
A total of 107 Gardai resigned last year.
The Sinn Fein TD says the lack of Gardai available has led to a rise in anti-social behaviour.
Speaking in the Dail she added that since more Gardaí are leaving the force than starting, Government must take action now.

There was to be 800 Gardaí recruited last year and 120 was the actual outcome.
This is a massive issue of concern for all of us in relation to keeping our community safe.
It is clear now that there is more Gardaí leaving with 107 resigning last year than starting.'
