A Roscommon teenager has been seriously injured following a traffic collision on the M8 in Tipperary.
The crash occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday when a loose horse entered the motorway near Cahir and collided with the vehicle.
The male driver who is in his late teens sustained serious injuries and was removed to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage to make it available to them.
