The Chairperson of Roscommon Tidy Towns is appealing to people to report instances of littering or dumping in the area to the local authority.
The call comes as Roscommon slipped down three places in the latest IBAL litter league and is now ranked as 32nd out of a list of 40 towns and cities surveyed across the country.
The report for Roscommon found 4 heavily littered sites and Kathleen Shanagher is asking for the publics help in putting a stop to irresponsible behaviour.
Meanwhile in Longford, results put the town as the 5th cleanest town in the country.
Eight out of ten sites examined in the town received top marks from the inspectors.
John Farrell from Longford Tidy Towns says the good results don't happen by accident.
