Roscommon's community vaccination centre is to close its doors at the end of this month after delivering over 52,000 vaccines in the last year.
With the majority of the population vaccinated and the lease on the current location expiring soon, The Saolta Group has decided to shut the facility on the 27th of March.
GPs and Pharmacies are still available to administer the jabs, including second and booster doses, along with community vaccine centre.
The facility has been located on the Golf Links Road in Roscommon Town since December, with previous locations including the Kilbride Community Centre and The Abbey Hotel in the town.
Speaking to Shannonside FM today, Saolta General Manager for the vaccine rollout in the region, Frank Harburn, says it's hard to tell if temporary vaccine clinics will be needed in the future.
Following a year of operations, he says the staff and volunteers should be extremely proud of themselves.
