The community of Keadue in north Roscommon will show off their village tomorrow as they welcome judges for the Entente Florale competition.
Over 900 areas across the EU were among the nominations for the event with Keadue and Dalkey being eventually chosen as the two entrants from Ireland.
The competition first began in 1975 and it judged horticultural displays in towns ,villages and cities during its first decades.
Keadue won a silver medal in the completion in 2003.
The focus has turned more towards bio-diversity in recent years and Paraic Noone from Keadue says tomorrows judging process will see members of the jury visit 10 different sites in and around the village.
