A campaign is underway to secure approval for a special support scheme for young people across Roscommon, Mayo and Galway.
Planet Youth which has been established over the past two years to develop ways of enhancing young people's health and well-being is now hoping to get government backing for an Icelandic hobby support scheme.
The scheme would see young people being given a leisure card every year with €350 euro credit to spend on supervised hobby or sporting activities.
A webinar will take place at 2 o' clock tomorrow afternoon where special guest speakers will outline how the scheme works in Iceland and how it has helped there.
Emmet Major from the Planet Youth project says the project has had hugely beneficial results in Iceland and he's hoping they'll get approval for a pilot here.
Anyone interested in attending the webinar tomorrow can log on to planetyouth.ie where they'll find a link to follow.
