Cllr Waldron passed away at his home at the age of 64 on Sunday morning last.

Gardaí responded to an incident at one o'clock this morning on the Roscommon side of the town.

Councillor Waldron died suddenly at his home in Ballintubber over the weekend, while aged in his 60s.

Elphin Community College in Roscommon had applied for the demolition of an existing single storey dwelling on site and its replacement with a new build.

Independent Laurence Fallon told a council meeting one in 10 people have this learning disability.

Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is hoping the west Roscommon faults will be fixed in the next couple of days. 

There are still significant outages in Roscommon and Leitrim, but almost all are fixed in Longford.

Almost 5,000 homes and businesses in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon are still without power.
