An Post has decided to move the facility to a nearby business early next year.

It's due to move from its current historic building on The Square to a nearby business early next year.

The historic building is hosts a significantly smaller work force today then in previous years according to one Councillor.

The party secured three out of the five seats in the constituency with Cllrs Garry Murtagh, Paraic Brady and Padraig McNamara all elected.

The local authority confirmed the €240,000 sale of over 11 acres at Carrownabrickna and Ballyboughan on the Racecourse Road.

They received the money under Farm Assist or the Rural Social Scheme.

There was a backlash earlier this year when the company said it would move from its current location on The Square.

Non residential properties such as businesses or industry saw the highest drain on the grid locally last year.
