The Rose of Tralee festival has been cancelled once again.
Organisers say they had been trying to work on a way to safely deliver some, or all, of the festival events at home and abroad.
Roscommon native Anthony O' Gara says the cancellation of the Rose of Tralee for the second year in a row is obviously a major disappointment for everyone concerned.
Regarded by many as the man who helped save the festival in the early 2000's Anthony O' Gara took over as CEO and put it back on the map as a must-see annual event.
Speaking to Shannonside/Northern Sound this afternoon the Roscommon man says while they had been holding out some hope earlier in the year that it might be able to go ahead in some format, they had to accept at this point that it's not going to be possible.
