The Rose of Tralee tour will visit Longford Town for the first time later this month.
Longford woman Grace Kemple was chosen as the local Rose in May, with the 23 year old set to represent the county in Tralee this month.
The Roses will arrive in the town on the 14th of August, where they will attend a number of events and activities in the county.
Grace is a qualified nurse who is currently studying midwifery at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, the Longford Rose says she's excited to show off the county:
"The tour is going through a good few counties on the way down to Tralee but it's passing through Longford. It's amazing because it's the first time it's ever been in Longford. I am delighted to be the ambassador for Longford and show the girls that it's not about winning or anything like that, it's the whole journey and the experience, and all the people I have met so far. I can only imagine it's going up from here. I am really, really excited."
