Five options for the final route of the Athlone to Galway Greenway are to be released for public consultation next week.
The corridor, when completed, will finish a 270 kilometre car free track from Dublin to Galway for walkers and cyclists.
The options will go on public display for five weeks on Monday the 25th of January on the project's online virtual consultation room at www. Galway to Athlone cycleway .com.
The routes include 3 in close proximity to Ballinasloe, with others moving through Mountbellew, Ahascragh, Ballyforan and along the Shannon.
Planners are urging the public to select their preferred option for the route the corridor will take.
Interested parties or landowners are also encouraged to contact the project team to discuss concerns over route selection.
