Local Senator Micheal Carrigy sits on the Oireachtas Media Committee and attended yesterday's hearing.

It was revealed yesterday that former Chief Financial Officer, Breda O’Keeffe, was paid €450,000 when she left her job at the state broadcaster.

The Party also wants an amnesty for those facing prosecution for not paying it.

There's also been some restated earnings for 2021, off the back of controversy at the broadcaster last year.

His comments come following a Grant Thornton report into Toy Show The Musical that highlighted serious failings in governance oversight and financial management.

The Grant Thornton report, published this afternoon, found the RTE board was not kept appropriately informed about the project as it was being developed.

Most recently he has presented the News at One on RTE Radio One.

Losses of 19 million euro in unpaid licence fees were recorded last year.
