Those in the areas affected by the spate of burglaries have been expressing their anger at the rising crime levels.

The home at Drumgildra in Mohill was ransacked and a large amount of jewellery and a PS5 console, accessories and games were taken.

It follows several burglaries throughout the county, which were highlighted in a protest in Castlerea last weekend.

An investigation has also been launched into the theft of a vehicle from a private property in the county overnight.

Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane brought the issue of falling Garda numbers in the region to the floor in the last hour following a spate of recent burglaries.

A series of burglaries in Elphin, Tulsk, Ballaghaderreen and Loughglynn are currently under investigation by An Garda Siochána.

Gardaí are investigating after Elphin Mart was broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning.
