Gardai in Roscommon are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle road crash that claimed the life of man in his 40s today.
The man was driving a car that collided with a wall on the N61 near Ballybay national school just after 9am.
It's understood the dead man is from County Roscommon, but his name has not yet been released.
The road was closed for a period, and gardaí are asking anyone who may have travelled the very busy route or who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
The death marks the second fatal road crash on roads in the Shannonside Norther Sound region since the start of the New Year.
