The Save Our Shannon group says it continues to be disappointed that no work has been undertaken to remove pinch points on the river south of Athlone.
The group met with OPW Minister Patrick O' Donovan and impressed upon him the need for water levels to be decreased by one meter along the river, citing the continued opposition to the move by the ESB and Waterways Ireland.
The group has also once again called for a single autonomous agency to take charge of the river to protect lands and habitats from continued flooding.
