Counting in the general election concluded last night with a Fianna Fail double.
Brendan Smith and Niamh Smyth were both elected on the final count in Cavan Monaghan - giving Fianna Fail 48 seats in the next Dail, followed by Sinn Fein on 39, and Fine Gael on 38.
With all the seats in the next Dail now filled attention will quickly turn to coalition negotiations.
Sinn Fein's already reached out to Labour and the Social Democrats, while Fianna Fail which is now the largest party with 48 TD's says it's important to move forward quickly in talks with other parties.
Labour which gained 11 seats is widely viewed as a potential partner to Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.
However reports today suggest senior party figures are cooling on the idea of being involved in any coalition.
Sligo-Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon says his party, Fianna Fáil, and Fine Gael should go into government with Independents.
