An extremely scenic boardwalk between Carrick-on-Shannon and Leitrim Village will go to planning next year.
It will start at the Shannon near Park Lane in Carrick and will go almost entirely along the water.
The project is currently being designed, and an application will be lodged with An Bord Pleanála in 2025.
