Many parents have struggled to try get their child a place on the bus to and from school.

Senator and Fianna Fail representative, Eugene Murphy, called for the creation of the bus service at a Seanad meeting in April of this year.

School bus places were free for the last academic term, but earlier this year fees were reintroduced.

Transport charges have been re-introduced for the next school year but will be capped for families at €125.

The appeals are in reference to decisions on the School Transport Scheme, which provides free school bus places to children.
