Lismoil NS near Curraghboy had just 9 pupils last year and faced the prospect of closure.

A decision on the application is due next month.

Longford County Planners will decide on the application in January.

Plans also include the construction of a multi use games area with perimeter fencing and lighting.

The issue is being discussed at the National Association of Principals and Assistant Principals conference, which is being held in Galway today.
