Two local Senators have raised the closure of a local post office building in the Seanad this week. Last week, An Post confirmed it would be implementing a new business strategy for its Roscommon town service. The post office in the county town will now be run by a contractor and will most likely move from its current location on the Square.
Local Senators Eugene Murphy and Aisling Dolan raised the issue in the Seanad on Wednesday. Senator Murphy urged An Post to rethink its decision:
