Sean's Bar in Athlone is set to re-open early next month after being closed for more than a year.
The pub was one of the first to close before the Covid pandemic when it closed its doors on March 14th of last year, and it has stayed closed since then.
Timmy Donovan says they've used the last year to carry out a lot of work on their beer gardens at the rear of the pub,and are happy to be able to offer a safe environment to customers when they open their doors again in a couple of weeks time.
He says the past year has been a difficult time for all pubs and their staff, but they're looking forward now to being able to have most people back working from June onwards.
