Local Gardaí are urgently appealing to the public near Cloonellon in Drumlish to check sheds, farm buildings and surrounds.

Sub-aqua clubs from across a wide area had been making searches of the river for the past few weeks

The seizure of the cannabis plants took place at a house in Moate today

Searches had got underway at 10.30am this morning for the missing man.

No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.

The drugs were discovered just after lunchtime on Thursday afternoon.

The man was arrested and charged this afternoon and will appear at Longford District Court on the 1st of next month
