The search for a man an elderly man missing from his home in Drumlish continues this afternoon.
Longford Civil Defense have now deployed a drone fitted with a thermal camera to search the surrounding land for 79 year old Peter Bohan.
It's expected a specialist dog unit will arrive on the scene this afternoon to aid the search.
A detailed search operation took place throughout the night in the Cloonellon area for Peter.
Peter is described as being approximately 5 foot 9 inches in height with a slim build, brown/grey hair and blue eyes.
When last seen yesterday afternoon, Peter was wearing a blue knitted jumper, dark trousers and a dark baseball cap with a red peak.
Local Gardaí are urgently appealing to the public in Drumlish to check sheds, farm buildings and surrounding lands as the elderly man may be confused and unsure of his surroundings.
