The body of a man, who was last seen in the River Shannon late on Thursday night in Rooskey, has been recovered by search teams.
Roscommon Civil Defence has confirmed that the man's remains were discovered on Saturday evening by the Garda Water Unit south of Rooskey lock towards Tarmonbarry.
Multiple agencies including Gardai, Civil Defence units in Roscommon and Leitrim as well as local sub aqua clubs had been engaged in the searches since Friday morning after the man was first reported in the water late on Thursday night.
Local community groups are being thanked by the search organisers for their help and support in the recovery efforts.
