Second fire brought under control at Dublin site earmarked for refugees

A fire broke out at the former Crown paints site in Coolock again last night.

There was another fire last night in Coolock at the site earmarked for asylum seekers.
The Sinn Fein Leader's calling on the Taoiseach to engage with the community after Friday night's violence.
A fire broke out at the former Crown paints site in Coolock again last night.

Dublin Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control and two fire engines from Kilbarrack and North Strand Fire Stations fought the fire.
No-one has been injured.
Gardaí who also helped Dublin Fire Brigade say firefighters left the scene late last night and the Malahide Road has reopened.
Mary Lou McDonald has written to the Taoiseach urging the Government to move beyond condemnation and into engagement and action.
The Sinn Fein Leader has posted on X she wants the state to engage with the community in Coolock.
All three gardai who were injured in Friday night's violence following the peaceful protest in Coolock are recovering and are being given welfare supports.
