A Longford senator is calling for immediate additional funding to be put in place for a well-known local service.
Speaking the Seanad earlier this week, Senator Micheál Carrigy says St Christopher's Service in Longford is running into significant financial difficulty.
According to figures, deficits could reach over €2 million by the end of the year.
Senator Carrigy believes that the financial difficulties were caused by incorrect information being given to staff.
Addressing the Minister of State with responsibility for skills and further education, Niall Collins, the Longford senator says immediate funding is needed to ensure services continue.
