A great sense of shock and sadness is being felt across the Roscommon region today following the death of Cllr John Naughten.
Gardai confirmed to Shannonside FM that his body was found in Drum, Athlone, yesterday evening and they say foul play is not suspected.
The Drum native has been a councillor since 2004 and was recently chosen to represent the party in the general election in Roscommon-Galway. Since the tragic news has been announced it has been met with an outpouring of shock and sadness in the South Roscommon and Athlone areas.
