Series of Roscommon burglaries linked to low Garda numbers - Frain

A critically low level of gardai is leading to a rise in burglaries in Co Roscommon, according to an Independent councillor.

Micheál Frain claims the number of officers in the Boyle, Ballaghaderreen and Castlerea area is at an all-time low.

He claims there are only half as many gardai in Ballaghaderreen now than in 2016 or 2017.

Councillor Frain says the series of burglaries in rural areas of Roscommon recently is very worrying.
