Serious concern in Ballaghaderreen over planned expansion of refugee centre

There are serious concerns in Ballaghaderreen about plans for an extension to the town’s refugee centre.

Next Week and Company is looking for planning permission for a two-storey extension to the Abbeyfield Hotel Eroc Centre.

There’d be a corridor to the existing centre and an Astro Turf pitch and a play area.

The Abbeyfield Hotel has been a refugee centre for almost eight years, and local man Michael Scally is strongly against the extension.

Local councillor Micheál Frain also has concerns.
