Seventy six litter fines have been issued by Longford County Council between January and August of this year.
While a total of 1,229 complaints were received, 1,069 were investigated and closed out.
The figures emerged at a recent meeting of Longford Joint Policing Committee where Senior Executive Officer of Longford County Council Ciaran Murphy outlined action taken by the council.
He said between January 1st and August 31st, 62 enforcement actions were taken.
He also said that over the course of those eight months, 130 dogs were seized in the county as well as 30 stray horses.
