Over a dozen incidents of anti-social behaviour have been reported at train stations or to Irish Rail staff in the Shannonside region so far this year.
The majority of the incidents occurred at Longford train station where reports of aggressive or lewd behaviour were made on multiple occasions.
Figures released to journalist Ken Foxe reveal that more than 500 incidents of anti-social behaviour or assaults on staff or passengers have been reported by Irish Rail this year.
Another 62 incidents involving accidents where passengers were hurt, after falling onto platforms or getting hit by dislodged luggage, were also reported.
In this region, incidents of aggressive behaviour were reported twice at Longford station in the first six months of the year, and one incident in Edgeworthstown in January.
Two instances of what is described as "lewd" behaviour were also reported at Longford train station - in March and May.
Two incidents of people believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Longford station were also reported in May.
Incidents reported on the Westport Dublin service also included aggressive behaviour at Athlone train station on three occasions as well as a similar incident on an early morning train service in mid-May.
In other incidents reported to Irish Rail, at the end of January, a passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance after falling at Roscommon station.
