A series of walk-in test and vaccine centres will be opened across the region this week in an effort to identify the spread of the virus and protect those at risk from it.
77 percent of people over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with 86 percent having also received at least one dose.
First and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be available today to over 16s in the Longford region at the Vaccination centre in Newtownforbes until 9 o'clock tonight.
This is the first time second doses are being made available through walk in centres, with those attending for their final vaccine required to be at least 17 days from their first dose.
Meanwhile, a pop up test centre in Athlone is due to reopen today.
The centre will be located once again at the former St Aloysius school, Athlone.
It will operate from today Tuesday until Friday from 10 in the morning until 4pm.
While, A pop-up Covid test centre is to open in Virginia in Cavan this weekend.
