Several areas in the Shannonside region are celebrating after winning prizes at the All Ireland Community and Council Awards.
The accolades were presented to the Local Authority Members Association at Hotel Minella on Saturday to recognise the work done by volunteers.
This year saw a record number of nominations across 31counties which was shortlised to 100 projects in 25 categories.
Lough Ree Access for All in Roscommon won the most inclusive project in the country.
While, Longford Connected communities won the best communications initiative and innovation.
In Leitrim, The Food Hub from Drumshambo recieved the Best Business working with the Community.And the Ballinamore Area won an award for Best Town and Village Regeneration.
Leitrim Councillor Caillian Ellis says the win in Ballinamore showcases the great achievement made by local communities in improving rural areas.
