A Shannonside FM sports programme has won the presitigious MacNamee Award from the GAA for the Best GAA Related Radio Programmme.
Remembering Dermot which was written, presented and produced by John Scally won the award for the year 2021 which was announced by the GAA today.
The programme marked the 10th Anniversary of former Roscommon footballer Dermot Earleys passing.
It has been described by the GAA as a fitting tribute and the programme gives an insight into the personal and playing life of one of Roscommon’s greatest footballers.
Meanwhile, Roscommon GAA has been awarded the MacNamee Award for the Best GAA Programme in 2021 for the Roscommon Senior Football Championship Final.
The MacNamee Awards will be presented by GAA President Larry McCarthy at a special ceremony at Croke Park on Friday, October 13th.
