Farmers and householders in the Shannonside region are being urged to consider how to improve the quality of the water entering water sources in their area.
The Federation of Group Water Schemes are appealing to rural householders to contact them to find out if they are close to a water catchment and take any necessary action to minimise any contamination.
Support and funding is available through the Agricultural Sustainability Support and Advice Programme, which works farmers to help improve water quality.
Joe Gallagher from the ASSAP programme says it's about firstly making people aware that they are living in an area close to a water source.
