Playgrounds across the Shannonside region are set to re-open later this week.
Despite being included in the list of amenities where restrictions were being lifted from Monday, up to 70 local playgrounds in counties Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon remain closed.
County Councils have been working with the HSE on guidelines, which will see parents being fully responsible for the supervision of their children in terms of personal hygiene, sanitisation of equipment, social distancing and capacity.
Local authorities have confirmed to Shannonside FM that signage is being prepared for every playground to advise parents of their responsibilities, before any playground will re-open - this is expected to be in place by the end of this week.
Roscommon Councillor Marty McDermott outlines the regulations being prepared for parents and guardians.
