Public buildings across the Shannonside region will light up blue or pink this evening as part of the Wave of Light campaign.
The initiative is part of Baby and Infant Loss awareness day organised by the sill birth and neonatal death charity, Féileacáin.
Aras an Chondae in Roscommon town and Carrick on Shannon, the Mall and County buildings in Longford, Cavan General hospital, Cavan Courthouse and Portiuncula and Mullingar Regional hospitals are all taking part in the light up which begins at 7 o’ clock.
People are invited to meet at any of the locations and light a candle to remember the young lives that were lost to parents and families.
Roscommon councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says he's happy to have made the request to the local authority to support the event.
